What to Tell Us About the Project
A useful first description includes:
- the type of project;
- the room, exterior area or structure involved;
- the current condition or problem;
- what you want to change;
- whether several areas are connected to the same project;
- and, for assembly or installation work, the product or model involved.
For a remodeling project, it is also helpful to explain what the room does poorly today and what you want it to do better when the work is complete.
Choose the Closest Starting Point
For major changes inside the existing home.
For new square footage or major structural expansion.
For roofing, windows, siding and related exterior work.
For decks, porches, outdoor living and accessory structures.
For smaller repairs, installations and punch-list work.
For a specific task such as furniture assembly, drywall repair, a window screen, grab bar, backsplash or light fixture.
If your project crosses several categories, describe the complete scope rather than splitting it into separate requests.
