Plan Access for Heavy Pool-Table Components
Pool tables can contain very heavy cabinet and bed components, especially models that use slate. The final room and access route should be evaluated before the assembly begins because a completed table is not something that should be casually moved through a hallway afterward.
Door widths, stairs, turns and the floor location all matter. We need the exact manufacturer and model in advance because not every table is built from the same bed system. This page covers assembly of a customer-supplied table; moving an existing assembled pool table from another room or property is a separate specialty task.
Frame, Legs and Slate or Bed Components
The support frame needs to be square and rigid before the playing bed is installed. Legs, crossmembers and cabinet sections are assembled in the manufacturer’s sequence so the top is supported evenly. On slate models, the number and size of slate pieces affect both handling and alignment.
Some consumer tables use composite or one-piece beds instead. We assemble the supplied components but do not modify a damaged frame or substitute materials for missing bed parts. If the table arrives with cracked slate, broken support rails or other structural damage, repair or manufacturer replacement should be addressed before final setup.
Leveling the Playing Surface
A pool table requires more precise leveling than ordinary furniture because even a small slope changes ball movement. After the frame and bed are installed, the table is positioned in its final location and checked for level across several directions. Adjustable feet or other manufacturer-provided adjustments can be used where appropriate.
The assembly scope should not be confused with professional table restoration. Refelting, rail-cushion replacement, pocket repair and correction of warped or damaged beds are separate services unless specifically included. The final setup depends on the table being mechanically sound before leveling begins.
Assembly vs Moving, Refelting or Repair
Pool Table Assembly is for a table being built from a supplied kit or disassembled manufacturer configuration. An existing table that needs to be moved often has to be taken apart, protected, transported and reassembled with a new leveling process.
Refelting and cushion work also require materials and skills beyond basic assembly. If the project includes one of those needs, it should be disclosed before scheduling. The goal of this service is a correctly assembled, stable table in its intended room, not a full billiard-table restoration or transportation package.
