Match Hardware to Door Thickness and Boring
Door hardware is only straightforward when the new lockset matches the existing door preparation. Door thickness, backset, bore diameter and edge-latch opening all affect whether a knob, lever or deadbolt will fit correctly.
Before installation, we compare the new hardware with the existing holes and strike location. If the new product requires a different bore pattern or major door modification, that should be identified before the old hardware is removed so the scope stays clear.
Knobs, Levers, Latches and Deadbolts
Mechanical hardware needs to operate smoothly from both sides of the door. The latch should retract fully, the spindle should move without binding and the lock or deadbolt should engage without excessive force.
We install customer-supplied compatible hardware and make normal alignment adjustments where the door and frame are already serviceable. If the door itself is sagging, damaged or badly out of square, General Door Installation & Repair may be the better starting point.
Strike Alignment and Smart-Lock Boundaries
Smart locks and connected security hardware have their own service because power, batteries, apps and network setup can become part of the installation. Mechanical knobs, levers, latches and deadbolts remain the focus here unless the project is intentionally scoped as smart-lock installation.
