Identify Cracks, Holes or Water Damage
A ceiling crack can come from minor movement, an old joint or a more significant structural issue. Water stains raise another question entirely: whether the leak above has already been corrected.
Before patching, the damaged area should be inspected for loose material and an active source. Finishing a ceiling before the cause is resolved only creates another repair later.
Repair the Substrate Before Finishing
Damaged drywall or plaster needs a stable edge and proper support before compound or finish layers are applied. Larger openings may require new board or backing rather than a surface patch.
Once the repair is stable, joints and fasteners can be finished gradually to blend into the surrounding plane. The amount of feathering depends on the size and location of the damage.
Texture and Finish Matching
Smooth ceilings and textured ceilings create different finishing expectations. A small patch may still remain visible under certain light even when the repair is technically sound.
We do not promise an invisible texture or paint match. Final painting can be a separate Interior Painting phase, and active roof, plumbing or structural problems remain outside ceiling finishing itself.
