Drywall & Wall Repair in Arlington, VA

A dent from furniture, an anchor hole and a water-damaged wall all need different preparation.

Identify the Cause Before Patching

A dent from furniture, an anchor hole and a water-damaged wall all need different preparation. The visible opening is only part of the repair if the surrounding board is soft, stained or still getting wet.

Before patching, we separate ordinary impact damage from active leaks, movement or hidden deterioration. That prevents a clean-looking patch from becoming a cosmetic cover over an unresolved problem.

Small Holes, Cracks and Larger Damaged Areas

Small holes can often be repaired locally, while larger openings may need backing and new drywall cut to fit. Cracks should be evaluated for movement before they are simply filled.

The repair method should match the size and condition of the damaged area. Loose paper, crushed gypsum and failed old patches need to be removed back to stable material first.

Prepare the Surface for the Next Finish

Joint compound is built and sanded gradually so the repair transitions into the surrounding wall. Texture, if present, is matched as closely as practical without promising an invisible result.

The drywall phase can end at a paint-ready surface. If final painting is included, Interior Painting is the separate finish phase and should be coordinated rather than implied automatically.
