Dryer Performance and Vent Warning Signs
A dryer that takes longer than usual, runs hot or leaves clothes damp can be affected by restricted airflow in the vent. Lint around the connection or exterior hood can also signal buildup.
Those symptoms should be treated as clues, not a remote diagnosis. Appliance faults and blocked ductwork can feel similar from the laundry room.

The useful cleaning path extends from the dryer connection toward the exterior termination. Long runs, elbows and concealed sections can collect lint in places that are not visible from either end.
Before cleaning, the route and exterior outlet should be identified where possible. A crushed, disconnected or improperly routed duct may need repair rather than repeated cleaning.
Cleaning vs Duct Repair or Rerouting
Cleaning removes accessible lint from a serviceable vent. It does not correct damaged duct, poor routing or an unsuitable termination.
