Grab bars are most useful when their location relates to a real movement or transfer task. The desired position should be identified before drilling, ideally with any user-specific guidance already provided by the appropriate professional.

Find Suitable Backing or Structural Support
A grab bar needs secure attachment to a suitable substrate or structural backing. Tile alone does not tell us what support exists behind the wall.
If the intended location lacks appropriate support, the wall may need additional work before installation. We do not claim a load rating beyond the product and mounting conditions actually verified for the project.
Height, Orientation and Finish Interface
Bars can be horizontal, vertical or angled depending on the product and intended use. Their position must also work with tile joints, fixtures and available wall space.
