Frame Type, Headboard and Storage Features
A simple metal frame, upholstered platform bed and storage bed can all use the same basic room but require very different assembly sequences. Before starting, identify whether the product includes a headboard, footboard, drawers, lift mechanism, center support or adjustable components.
The finished bed should fit the intended wall without blocking doors, vents or closet access. We assemble the customer-supplied product according to its instructions and plan the order of work around the room size. Murphy and wall beds are handled separately because they introduce wall mounting, cabinet structure and swing-clearance requirements.
Rails, Slats and Center Supports
Side rails, crossmembers, slats and center legs carry the mattress load, so they need to be installed in the correct orientation and at the intended spacing. Some frames use hooked rails, others use bolts or brackets, and platform systems may rely on closely spaced slats or panels.
We check that supports contact the floor where designed and that the frame does not twist as hardware is tightened. Storage beds may require drawer tracks or under-bed modules to be aligned before the mattress platform goes on. Improvised slat spacing or substitute hardware is avoided when the manufacturer’s components are missing.
Alignment Before the Mattress Goes On
A bed is easier to correct before the mattress covers the hardware. We check that the headboard and footboard are square, rails are fully seated and drawers or lift components can move without rubbing. The frame should sit firmly on the floor without unnecessary rocking.
If the product includes height-adjustable feet, they can be set to stabilize the structure in the final position. Mattress handling is not automatically part of assembly, especially for large or heavy mattresses. If the existing mattress must be moved, removed or carried between floors, mention that need separately before the appointment.
Adjustable or Specialty Beds Need Separate Scope
Some products combine a conventional bed frame with powered adjustable bases, integrated lighting, charging modules or other specialty features. The furniture portion can still be assembled, but electronics, motor troubleshooting and complex powered systems may need a different scope or manufacturer support.
